Yes,
my dear, there is no way out of it, you have to wear a
suit! Honestly, I've never met a man that didn't look
great in one, so you've got nothing to worry about. Just
pretend you're Bond, James Bond and be as cool and slick
as ever. Here are a few pointers on how to pick out a
suit that YOU LIKE. Be sure you're comfortable with your
choice and how it looks on you. There are a lot of different
types of tuxedos out there, but you only need one!
Very
Formal Day Wedding
Traditionally
this takes place between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and
the traditional dress is a morning suit. A morning suit
is a long jacket with wide tails at the back (in black
or grey). Accessories are usually a white shirt, ascot
and vest.
Formal
Day Wedding
A
stroller jacket (long jacket) in black or grey with matching
pants. Accessories would be a white shirt with a vest
and ascot or a white shirt with a tie and cumberbund.
Informal
Daytime Wedding
A
nice dark suit, double breasted, with a white shirt and
tie are fine.
Very
Formal Evening
A
shawl collar tux in black or white with all your accessories
matching is appropriate. A nice added touch would be white
gloves.
Formal
Evening Wedding
A
dark coloured tux with matching accessories
Don't
be worried if you don't understand what we're talking
about. This list is to help you when you start browsing
through the tuxedo catalogues. All tuxes are very specifically
labelled in this fashion. Also when you end up going to
the tuxedo store, you may very well decide that you're
original choice isn't what you want at all. Be sure, above
all else, that you are comfortable with your choice and
how it looks on you because you're gonna get your picture
taken over, and over, and over again!!
Based
on whatever you buy, you would outfit the groomsmen to
compliment you and try to coordinate any colours you choose,
i.e. for the cumberbunds, ties and/or handkerchiefs with
your bridesmaids dress colours (if you're colour blind,
you could be screwed on this one, so don't be shy, ask
the wife-to-be)!!
